Just got WinXDVD Copy Pro from http://www.giveawayoftheday.com/winx-dvd-copy-pro/
The software has two functions - DVD to ISO, DVD to a single MPEG2. Both can be burned to DVD later. My question is which output is better for later burning?![]()

Burning to what ?
For what purpose ?
If you want to burn a DVD then ISO will give you a one to one copy. If you output as a single mpeg-2 you will have to re-author, and won't have any of the original subtitles and will probably be missing many of the audio tracks etc.
But again, it depends on what you are looking to do down the track.Read my blog here.

Left off most important, direct copy of the Video_TS directory to your HD.
Then rebuild to the size needed or not as the case may be. -

DVD Decrypter has its points, but I've never thought reauthoring to be one of them.
DVD Shrink is better.
DVD Rebuilder even more so.
Likely folks here can come up with even better, but for folks like me, I need the help of the GUI's, etc.
I'm not a total newbee, but I'm not up to this level either. I've been around more than a few years and my results have always received compluments, but I don't have the advanced experience that I've seen in some of the posts here.
But I'd definitely use DVD Rebuilder over DVD Decrypter for reauthoring, unless I wasn't worried about the size of the end result.
In that case, I'd use DVD Shrink on the Video_TS directory that I ripped with DVDX Copy, and burn the results.
I'm not too sure I've a need for DVD Decrypter any more. Shrinki does a better job of reauthoring allowing complete control over language tracks and subtitles to be included/excluded. DVD Rebuilder does that and a better job of shrinking to single layer, if needed.Last edited by v491138; 23rd Apr 2011 at 12:54.
