    Hi fellow vcd fans,

I made a nice vcd backup of my Gladiator dvd but find that playing back in anything other than Windows Media Player gives a wrong aspect ratio (picture too high).

My problem is that after converting the dat file back to mpeg VirtualDub will resize it beautifully but output to a massive avi file - 30gb+!!

If only it could leave it as an mpeg.

At the same time I want to avoid if possible having to demultiplex and frameserve to TMPEGEnc and then multiplex audio and video back again. This surely would take too long and lose quality.

Please can anyone recommend an easier alternative that will resize the picture but otherwise leave the mpeg as it is?

    Thanks for any help given.

    Barry Webber.

As far as I know, there is no other way than reencode.

Yes I think you're right Truman , I have just done that with the first vcd file and it took about 10 hrs but seems to have made a very exceptable job of it.
    Thanks for your reply.
