  1. I have one 2005 model Sharp TV. It doesn't have any headset jack. It has only 3 AV out and 1 AV in unit. I used 3.5mm Stereo Female to RCA Male Y-Cable to connect my headset to TV AV in. But, I am not hearing anything. If I use the same thing in DVD player I can hear the voice, but the voice also coming from TV too.

My question is, How can I hear the audio using my headset. Any help will be really appreciated.

I believe the Sharp TVs, or many TVs for that matter, don't have a powered line out. You'll need to use powered headphones (?) or use some sort of amp. The DVD player is powered to provide you the needed sound.

Once you have it setup, you set the TV to mute or disable the TV sound. Then you'll only get the sound from the line-out.
    Have a good one,

That sounds backwards. It more likely has 3 AV inputs and one AV output (often labeled "monitor out").

Make sure you're plugging into the AV output. The signal from that output usually isn't controlled by the TV's volume control. So you'll need powered headphones with a volume control. I'd suggest you use wireless headphones like these:
