I've just tried PowerVCRII 3.0 Pro to do realtime capture from a DV Camcorder to VCD. This is the first app that I have found that actually does this but the resulting VCD is very poor quality and the PAL VCD template does not seem to be compliant with Nero 5.5.
Can anyone suggest a really good way of going from DV to VCD in REALTIME.
Thanks

I don't kmow if youy could use it for VCD but Campeg at
http://www.mediostream.com/products/CAMpeg.htm is the
only other product I know that does software DV to MPEG in real time. -
I have used Ulead Video Studio 5.0 and have had excellent results. The only problem is it doesn't acutally record in mpeg, but avi. Then it will convert and compress the a/v to mpeg format for either a DVD, VCD, or SVCD in either PAL or NTSC. It requires a lot of hard disk space for the recording, which can be gained back after the conversion. I highly recommend this utility.
