I purchased a Pioneer DV-C302D in excellent condition from Ebay which plays well.

I am mechanically inclined so I was wondering where I can purchase a replacement laser pick-up part no. vwy-1055.

The Pioneer website states that the part is no longer available.

Any ideas or known substitutes? A laser pick-up would be a lot cheaper than the entire laser assembly.
