  2. you have 2 options:
    1) Open your AVI in Virtual/Nan Dub and split it into 2x ~365mb files (kind of wastes space)
    2) ONLY IF YOUR BURNER SUPPORTS THIS. You can buy a 99min/850MB CDR and in Nero ROM, choose to Overburn. Since it's only 730MB, you won't need to set it to the full 850MBs (this could help compatibility since itsjust slightly over 700MB). Once you select overburn, add your AVI to the layout and burn it.

btw the question wasn't for experts only

  3. Hi,

You can also use 90Min CDR's, since they are better supported.
Or, just open the file in VirtualDub/NanDub and cut of any useless intros or the end credits. This should bring the file size down. Then you can probably burn it normally to a 80min cdr, or overburn it a bit.

  4. If your looking to create a VCD, convert the AVI to MPG using TMPEnc. It's possible that the final mpeg will be less than 730 MB and still fit on a disc. Use the TMPGEnc wizard, as it will help you determine if you can fit the video on one CD. If it's just over one CD (80 min/700Mb), consider burning as XVCD. But make sure your dvd player supports this first (see the DVD Players compatibility lists or burn a small sample to test it). The XVCD format will allow you to lower the bitrate, which will decrease the final video. One last option is to use burning software that allows you to "overburn" - VCDEasy is one such program. This can help if you're just over the limit of the CD.

    I hope this helps.

Ummm no. Using the standard VCD template (1150kbps CBR MPEG-1 Video and 224kbps CBR MPEGLayerII Audio) the resulting file will be ~ 10MB/1Min. Unless the video is shorter than 80Mins (which i doubt it is due to the AVI filesize) the resulting VCD will not fit, and most likely need to be split onto 2 CDRs (80Mins~800MB in mode 2, the VCD mode) . That is, if your using standard VCD templates. If u want it to fit on 1 CDR as a VCD, itll need to be an xVCD with a very shitty bitrate.
