    720p h264
    crap laptop

1... I crop the individual video files in the camera and overwrite them is seconds( canon g12) way faster than editing software - its awesome.

2...I want to drag 20 .mov files to a program (a wizard..?) - i then want it to join them all and replace soundtrack with mp3 all with minimal clicks.. - all at once in fact..

i got close with mpeg streamclip to join them which is awesome although i would like to know how to get quality exactly same as original when joining ( no loss, same total file size), or are the files all different bitrates or something with h264 and it is not possible..?

then i tried latest virtualdub to replace audio with mp3 or whatever - but it says file type not supported

I think I am close but is there anything that does above in one go?

thx, will post a vid soon the g12 is awesome with the hacked firmware to enable there disabled features - I prefer it to my video camera - just less drama and 720p is WAY less painfull to work with.

thx ian nz ps i shoot surfing kitesurfing and stuff like that

Maybe you could use a mp4 multiplexer like mymp4boxgui or yamb to open the movs and replace the audio and output as a new mp4.
