svcd2dvd recycles thru registering

just installed svcd2dvd on an hp laptop vista dv6835nr.
its Saturday and each time I start the program it goes to the "getting the machine register" mode asks me to enter my name
in box 2, I enter my name and click register and the screen goes back to the desktop without starting the program.
