moin, moin...
Since I started to backup my old tapes I wondered, whether there is something for movies like the ID3tags for MP3.
Last weekend I took some time for searching the web about it and yes, there seems to be a possibility.
As I mostly use MPEG1 for music-clips and DivX for movies, I looked into the description of both of them and I found some place in both of the formats, where data like the ID3tags could be stored.
For DivX (->AVI->RIFF) there exist the "list" "info" with some already definded contents.
It does not contain all the things I want/need, but could IMHO be expanded easily.
For MPEG there is "user-data", which could IMHO be used for the same purpose.
Does anybody know of apps/en-decoders/players that can be used to write/read/display contents in these parts of a file ?
Or is there an equivalent to ID3tags for video that I don't know about ?
Is there anybody interested to work out more precise rules to store/read such data ?

ps: and if this is the wrong place for this topic, please point me to the right one![]()
