Hi, question:
1. Why in the world x264vfw is slower to render in vegas with the default settings? when I'm using VD it is much faster.
2. Is there anyway I can transfer my project into vd without re-rendering?
3. It seems x264vfw is washing out my color. I still want to maintain the sharpness and saturation of the video(filtered). Is there anyway I can do this?

Just frameserve into Virtualdub straight from the Vegas timeline with this freebie: http://www.debugmode.com/frameserver/

No re-rendering, no huge intermediate files.

Plus you have a large selection of filters in Vdub to 'tweak' your sharpness and saturation, if you want to.

I do know that x.264vfw encoding uses all 4 cores on my quad core, when outputting from Vdub.

The color problem you are seeing are probably because Vegas is putting out studio RGB instead of computer RGB. See this post:

I don't use Vegas but look for Debug Mode Frame Server. I see that mentioned all the time.
