    We're starting out with a very narrow focus, so if this sounds like you:

    Novacut will be a great fit, and we'd love chat with you to make sure it's a great fit.

    Novacut will be usable (although simple) soon... say 3 months, assuming Kickstater works out. In terms of the "1.0" features we're targeting:

    * Real time collaborative editing
    * Snapshotting (version control)
    * Media asset management (dmedia)
    * Very rich tagging, rating, organization
    * Highly productive frame-accurate editing
    * Automatic audio sync
    * Possibly the best multicam workflow ever
    * Decent audio features, but fairly simple
    * Decent color grading, but fairly simple
    * Frame rate adjustment using optical flow
    * Fully animate-able playback rate (forward, reverse)
    * Enough motion graphic support for credits/titles (looking to Blender for full motion graphics)

    Obviously $25k wont get us all they way to 1.0, but at this point we're just trying to keep moving forward.

    Longer term features that wont be "1.0" targets:

    * Fully animate-able crop
    * Compositing (might have some internal compositing and/or use Blender)
    * Full-on Pro Tools style audio features
    * Full-on Magic Bullet style color grading

    Things we're unlikely to support, although could come from community/industry:

    * Tape based workflows
    * Weird broadcast hardware
    * DVD features
    * Obscure cameras, extra weird file formats
