  1. I burned a DVD useing Dvd Shrink to my HD. Then when I used FAB 8 it burns in at just under an hour and when I used Nero it was around 11 or twelve minutes... Can someone tell me what they think I'm doing wrong when I use FAB 8 ? The time it takes to make a backup with FAB 8 it seems like it is shrinking and writing the disc like when I use DVD Shrink and then Nero.

I have always thought when you set the writing time at 4x or 6x it would take longer(better quality burn) and if you write it at a real high speed the quality is not as good. So, could it be me burning my burning at a 4x or 5x speed be the reason it takes a hour ?

DVD Shrink doesn't have a burning program. It uses Nero or the old DVD Decrypter, or with mods, ImgBurn. If the Shrink and FAB applications take very different times to burn, I suspect one of them is doing some re-encoding that you probably don't need and it's not a burning problem.

1X would take about an hour to burn. 4X should take about 15 Min and 6X about 10 Min. I burn everything at the rated speed of the media and it always works fine, usually 8X or 16X and no coasters, ever. But I use good quality media like Taiyo Yuden and Verbatim DL.

I would only use ImgBurn for burning, especially for DL discs. I don't use Nero for anything.

  3. I use DVD Shrink and Nero Rom (that's all of Nero I use) It would be nice if they canned all the rest and gave the Nero Rom free, but look at all the $ they would not get. After I burn to HDD with DVD Shrink I burn with Nero ROM at 4x or 6x and never a coaster. Video is great... the buffering I think its called is always 99% to 100%. about 15 to 20 mins.
