    hi new here and new to the whole mkv converting thing i have searched and looked every where. and i need help i have a bunch of file that are BRRip H264 AAC mpeg4 or mp4 and they r large files and i am trying to convert the to a smaller mkv file and i can't find out how to do it right and i am using windows 7 64bit i want to watch them on my wdtv and the mkv file play good with no problem and i kinda want to clear up space on my hard drive. the mkv files that i know work is BRRip - 720p - x264 - MKV this is on of the setting on the video

    Open in handbrake, under video set the file size. Convert.

    But 550 MB is tiny....get a bigger hdd.

    i tried it in handbreak and the video and audio is not synced and the size i put 700mb and it comes out 1gb and the subtitles don't add.

    i have a 2tb hard drive that's just the size of the movie and its Hancock bluray

    Why do you rip and shrink so big then? I hope you aren't downloading warez...

    i got most of them from a friend and they come from release-lounge we just copied hdd to hdd and its a about 200 movies they rip them through some type of quick time thing and the files r between 1500-2500 per file. and i read that mkv could keep the quality and make them smaller. but i am doing some thing wrong or my setting r off some how
