  1. I own a dvd movie it is rated R because language and violence, as I was watching it on tv I noticed that when they say the f*** word there is a silence but I didn't noticed any flickering or anything at all just smooth taking away part of the audio.
My question is how can I do that? witch is the program that will allow me to do that?
and also can that be done with the video(to take away scenes not for all the family)?

    Thanks.

Studios release separate TV/airline versions of their films, oftentimes replacing the f-word or other profanity with an alternate word recorded by the actor. Sometimes, the voice is silenced, but ambient background sound is left in. It is all a matter of re-mixing the sound track.

To do your own cleaned-up version, you might try MPEG Video Wizard. It costs a little bit, but you might find it the easiest software for your purposes. Nevertheless, audio censoring with this tool might not be so smooth and sophisticated. To do a more seamless cleanup, you'd have to use more complex tools, such as an editor like Vegas. It just depends on how hard you want to work, and how much of a learning curve you're willing to take on.

Or, do like I did when my kids were little: watch the movie after their bedtime, using headphones to listen to the sound.

  3. Thanks for your reply, if those programs have free trials I'll see what can be done.
