  1. is there any point running my MPEGS through an encoder for a 2nd or 3rd time at high Q setting to improve the Q of the picture , dont get me wrong it looks ok after the first but am trying to get the most out them.Would this improve the file or would I just be wasting my time.
Eh!.......don't know why it's doing that, it worked perfectly well on my system !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. If you allready have a mpeg ... it's too late. If you have the original video than you can try other settings to higher the quallity of your final mpeg.

If you need more place or you have to put more video onto the same CD, than you can try to encode your footage again to get smaler file size.

I don't know what you actually whant. If you still have the original avi or what ever you have file , you can make as may trial as you like to get the quality which satisfy you. To encode the same shit... no, don't do it.

  4. what i get jestorius is .DAT files , which I beleive are already Mpeg files , that are not alwys in the best of health. So I guess Im asking ....is there any point processing these dudes apart from doing audio resync. Will Tmpgenc make these files brighter,sharper....................better? And if not is there any program that will do these things ??? The thing that pisses me off is having to look at someone elses work , and not being able to correct the sloppy workman ship they employed when encoding the original file , and no I dont have access to the original. ANY HELP,HINTS,TIPS or POINTERS on .DAT would be very much appreciated.

  6. No, there is nothing you can do to improve the quality once it is already encoded to MPEG. Reprocessing it will just make it worse, in fact - same concept as saving a JPEG repeatedly.
