  1. Hi Guys,

Looking at getting into some video editing with 360 footage but have no experience with capturing footage from the 360. I've been doing a fair amount of research but am still a little unsure of what to buy.

With my current setup i'm sharing my primary pc monitor with my xbox (VGA) This is where i'm getting confused am i able to output to my monitor via VGA whilst capturing in HD. My budget isn't really a problem i'm looking to go for the highest quality i can get.

    Specs:
    AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.41 GHz
    8Gb DDR3 RAM
    nVidia 9800GTX+ OC
    64GB SSD + Samsung F3 1TB HDD 7200rpm 32MB Cache
    Running 64Bit Windows 7 Ultimate.

(No USB 3.0 so the Intensity shuttle is a no)

Thanks for any help you can provide.

If you meant the xbox360 is being viewed on the systems monitor then no to both parts as the screen must have output to provide the additional function.

One method is shown in the picture on this link on basic setup ... however it only shows the standard version being used ... there are other models where higher resolutions are captured and the price rise to match.

Another more simple method is xbox360 via rca to tv av input ... tv av output to pc capture card ... most record at dvd resolutions and depends on tv model having av outputs.

    Or google these

    1: Blackmagic design intensity
    2: Avertv CaptureHD

Add Hauppauge HD-PVR to the list. Requires analog component out of XBox360 and analog component inputs to HDTV.
