  1. I am trying to convert a SVCD to VCD format and this is what I have done so far:

I know TMPGEnc (or any other program) cannot open the mpeg I have ripped from the SVCD, so reading everyone's advice on the board I decided to demultiplex it first. However, when I try to do this the whole movie does not demultiplex!!! I know the movie is 45 min, but TMPGEnc stops demultiplexing the movie at 39:25. How can I solve this problem? Could it be that the SVCD file has errors? (when I tried ripping the MPEG file off the cd, Iso Buster had some read error, but I chose ignore.)

  2. Yes, tmpgenc will stop if there is a error (break) in the mpeg file. Or, it will stop at the end of the audio track/video track, which ever is shorter. Use Womble's Mpeg2vcr program to demux the entire file.

Why do you think demultiplexing would help you? After (an succesful)demultiplexing you'll have an .m2v video stream, which TMPGEnc can't handle either. Better to open the mpg with DVD2AVI, save project and then open the DVD2AVI project in TMPGEnc.

  4. Thanks for the tip rdad, I will try it tonight. Thank you also RoopeT, but I already tried that. Once I converted the file to a DVD2AVI project file I opened it with TMPGEnc. I start the encoding, but when it reaches up to the point of error an error message pops up saying something about an error occuring in section (blah blah blah) 'DVD2AVI.vfp'. Thanks though.
