Need to crop a time stamp out of AVI file

Hi - any recommendations on a program (preferably free or cheap) that will allow me to crop out or blur a time stamp?

Virtualdub with an appropriate filter can blur, or it can do a simple crop. Whichever you choose you will have to re-encode the entire video.
