I live in Brazil, and recently I got digital tv cable service. As a very good newbie I want to be able to record my fav. programs on computer. The thing is:
The cable provider (NET) uses Nagravision encryption (I guess, since it's the Smart Card brand).
I know I'll have to spend some money getting myself a DVB-C PCI Card (planning Technotrend Budget C-1500), Technotrend PCI CI, and most important....
I need a CAM that works with Nagravision! Most importantly, with CABLE nagravision encryption, since their original CAM doesn't work on DVB-C.
I've seen this interesting CAM, T-Rex 4.6 that claims to be able to access all known encyption used in DVB providers. It's as expensive as the DVB card + CI together so I'm posting this to know if anyone in Brazil (or anyone more experienced with DVB-C) would advice me to go ahead or to stop dreaming I'll be able to watch digital cable tv on my computer :P
Could anyone explain to me if that CAM couldn't work for me? and if doesn't, why?
that's all for now.
