  1. Hi all, this is a question which will probably have you all rolling your eyes whilst screaming "FFS!" Anyway...

I have a DivX/Avi that I am trying to convert to VCD so that I can watch it on my DVD player. I am using TMPGEnc to achieve this, but I always end up with an mpeg that is nothing but black. I dread to think how much time I hae wasted on this, so if anyone out there can offer some advice I'd be eternally grateful. The details:
    The avi is 700Mb.
Audio: Mpeg Layer 3, 48.00kHz sample rate, 2 channels (stereo)
Video: Frame Width: 640, Frame Height: 352, Play Length: 5525.358 seconds, Frame Count: 132476, Frame Rate: 23.976 fps, Data Rate 129.749 kb/s, Video Sample: 24 Bit, Video Compression DivX Codec.

Hope that this is enough information, I really appreciate the help.
    Cheers all

    Hi

Make sure you have the latest software, Vdub and TMPGenc.
Load the movie into Vdub, select video > streaming audio > streaming, Now select SAVE AS and save another copy of the AVI. If there was any problems this is usually a quick fix, and only takes a few minuets.

When your ready to convert, in TMPGenc hit the load button and load in a template (PAL/NTSC) let it run a minuet and abort, check your output is now ok.
