  1. Ok let me get this straight. I just finsihed reading http://www.doom9.org/aspectratios.htm.

Now my first project involved DV video capture at 720x480. I then encoded this using Premeiere's CCE plugin. I wanted to make a SVCD and that has to be 480x480 so I specified that in the CCE settings before encoding. My end result was a horizontally squished mpg when viewed in Windows Media Player.

Now if I understand the above guide properly then the end result I got is what I should have gotten. And that result would play properly(stretch out) when played in a DVD player or using a program that supports SVCD(as opposed to Windows media player just playing it like a straight mpeg).

    Is this correct?

  2. Try using the AVI2SVCD function of DVD2SVCD. This automates a lot of what needs to be done with CCE. I think you would choose 16:9 as source ratio for this. Check out www.doom9.org for more info on CCE and DVD2SVCD.
