  1. does anyone know if you can watch SVCDs on youru PC's DVD player? I have made some SVCD that play great on my home DVD player, however a few friends of mind want to watch it on their PC that has a DVD/ROM player.
Can they watch it that way, or is there a good software program that can help them or me???

Alot of software dvd players have specific svcd support, meaning they will play the disk exactly as a hardware player will. WinDVD is probably the best player in this regard. Even if your software dvd player doesnt officially support svcds you can still play the movie in file mode by browsing the disk and loading the mpg, though this can sometimes result in inproper aspect ratio.

There are software dvd players available in the tools section of this site which are specifically designed to play vcds and svcds. I would recommend checking to see whether your friend's software dvd player supports svcds or not and if they don't then tell them to download one of these svcd software players.

There some features that software dvd players don't have when playing svcds, however. Currently there is no software dvd player which can display soft encoded subtitles (switchable), dual audio tracks, or support all navigational menu functions in svcds.
