What is the native display resolution of your TV? Use that.

1024x768 is square pixel 4:3. Is your TV 4:3 aspect?

1024x768 might be an early plasma (non-square display pixels) or a small computer monitor. Most 4:3 computer monitors were 1280x1080.

Like edTV stated, it depends on the native resolution of the TV. My brother just bought a 32" 1080p LCD so he has the resolution set to 1920x1080 for PC use.

My monitor is 23" and optimum resolution is 2048x1152 but the text is too small for my eyes on a screen that small so I have it set to 1680x1050. His 32" looks good at 1920x1080 though.

  6. Ive tried the 1920*1080 and it is far to small to read anything it really hurts the eye i think ill upgrade my driver and try the 1366*768 as it wont allow me to use that on the current driver.

1366 × 768 was just my suggestion as i know it was a common resoultion used on a lot of 32" displays, based on the minimal knowledge you gave.

What TV is is? we can help a lot more then. As said above many times you just need to find the native resolution and use that.
