If you have the complete DVD structure inside a VIDEO_TS (Must be capitalized) folder, with BUPs, IFOs, and VOBs and they have the correct specifications, it should burn as a proper DVD. Try ImgBurn instead. For the DVD specification, format and structure, look to the top left on this page for 'WHAT IS' DVD.

That sounds like a verification error. You could try running the DVD file through DVDShrink in Reauthor mode and that may fix the file structure. You don't have to shrink it, keep it the same size.

  5. Does the DVD have a folder in the root called VIDEO_TS? Are all your IFO/BUP/VOB files in that folder?

  7. A movie DVD must have a folder called VIDEO_TS in the root. Inside that folder should be a bunch of files like:

    VIDEO_TS.BUP
    VIDEO_TS.IFO
    VIDEO_TS.VOB
    VTS_01_0.BUP
    VTS_01_0.IFO
    VTS_01_0.VOB
    VTS_01_1.VOB
    VTS_01_2.VOB
    VTS_01_3.VOB
    VTS_01_4.VOB

The exact list of files will differ a bit from DVD to DVD (eg there may also be VTS_02_, VTS_03_ etc. groups). But if the DVD you made doesn't have a similar structure it was not made properly.

I really don't understand why I cannot succeed
there are to .ifo files (VIDEO_TS (8KB) and VTS_01_0 (84KB); VTS_01_1 until 4 are .vob heavier (form 815.000kb to 1.401.000 kb)
if I use vlc in my pc, the video runs smoothly
img seems not working: how can I do?
    is there another freeware available??

    thanks

VOB files can't be over 1 GB on a DVD.

I did a quick search at the Imgburn forums (http://forum.imgburn.com/) and there doesn't appear to be any definitive cause for the error or a fix.

Basically the standard things - make sure the firmware for the burner is up-to-date (you can check here: http://www.firmwarehq.com/ or directly at the manufacturer's web site); make sure you're using good quality discs (usually T-Y or Verbatim are the recommended ones); try another of the supported write speeds; use a cleaning disc to clean the burner.

If none of those produce a playable burn, your burner may be dead/dying and might need to be replaced.

Open a command prompt in the folder.
    type:
    dir>a.txt

then open the file a.txt and paste it here, you should see something like this:
    Code:
Volume in drive Q is DATA
     Volume Serial Number is 6C31-6E5C

     Directory of Q:\DVD\DVD\VIDEO_TS

    24/06/2010 03:07p <DIR> .
    24/06/2010 03:07p <DIR> ..
    24/06/2010 03:07p 0 a.txt
    23/06/2010 09:07p 12,288 VIDEO_TS.BUP
    23/06/2010 09:07p 12,288 VIDEO_TS.IFO
    23/06/2010 09:07p 55,296 VIDEO_TS.VOB
    23/06/2010 09:02p 43,008 VTS_01_0.BUP
    23/06/2010 09:02p 43,008 VTS_01_0.IFO
    23/06/2010 09:02p 57,344 VTS_01_0.VOB
    23/06/2010 09:03p 1,073,709,056 VTS_01_1.VOB
    23/06/2010 09:03p 271,192,064 VTS_01_2.VOB
    23/06/2010 09:06p 40,960 VTS_02_0.BUP
    23/06/2010 09:06p 40,960 VTS_02_0.IFO
    23/06/2010 09:06p 57,344 VTS_02_0.VOB
    23/06/2010 09:07p 1,073,709,056 VTS_02_1.VOB
    23/06/2010 09:07p 117,768,192 VTS_02_2.VOB
                  14 File(s) 2,536,740,864 bytes
                   2 Dir(s) 5,114,011,136 bytes free
Note that the file VTS_01_1.VOB is 1 GB in size. VOBs can't be larger than that. If it is you'll have to reauthor the files.

I can burn this to a standard DVD with Imgburn, Build mode, select the folder VIDEO_TS. (After deleting the a.txt file, that might confuse things.)
