Hey people, im just wondering how using a gfx card connected to a hdtv using hdmi cable you can browse the pc and play videos BUT they only play on the hdtv in WMP or something so i can keep the videos playing on the tv while looking and browsing for videos on the pc? i used to be able to do this years back with my old tv out on a sdtv and didnt know how i did it, it just happened, but i cant find an option or way to do it now, any help would be great thanks

gfx card = radeon 4870 1GBDDR5 (using catalyst control centre on pc)
hdtv = samsung full hd tv

I just run an extended desktop onto my Samsung HDTV, the i drag VLC over to it and run it fullscreen, on my other PC screen i can then browse the internet or do whatever I want and it wont affect the fullscreen mode on the HDTV....in fact it's doing it right now with a playlist of music videos as i browse.

I think certain programmes will jump you out of full screen mode when clicking elsewhere. VLC doesnt and its working great.
