    Hi,

I have several .mkv files which should be converted to dvds. The filesize of these .mkvs is about 6+ GB so I would like to convert such a file not to one or a multilayer dvd but to two single dvds (old dvd burner which doesn't support multi layer dvds).

Any hints on a good video converter that is able to manage this task (in one step if possible)?

    Tia,

Burn as data? Then split with mkvtoolnix.

Or if you are converting to a standard dvd-video then does the source file size not matter at all. It's the movie duration that will decide if it's really necessary to convert to dual layer dvd/two dvds.

Standard DVD-Video with playtimes of about 4-5 hours per .mkv file. Tried it with ConvertXToDVD but it's not capable of creating two dvds instead of one multilayer ;(

I haven't seen any simple all-in-one dvd converter with such a feature.

You could convert to a dual layer size and then split the dvd with dvd shrink.

    Thank you Baldrick,

I'll use dvd shrink to split the dual layer dvds in the future.
