Ok I had to demux the english track from a bluray because I had mistakenly converted the french track with avs to dvd. The dvd looks great but its in French.

So I demuxed the english track in tsmuxer. I am now using eac3to to get a 448khz ac3 file from the dolby true hd track. I had selected 448 and I selected 16bits instead of 24.

    Is that a mistake?

Should I leave that at no change?

This conversion is for a standard dvd. I'll mux this audio in with the video that I already converted from the bluray.

It says its reducing the bit depth from 64 to 16. What exaclty is the bit depth for dvd audio? I know its 16bit for cd wav right? I don't know for dvd creation.

Is this going to be a serious quality hit on the output? I will test it of course after I mux and burn it.

I am going to save my demuxed audio file in case I need to go at this again. Thanks.

Edit - I previewed it in tmpegnc dvd author 2. It seems to be ok. I don't get any weak sound out of it. It sounds as it should. I'm authoring the dvd right now. I'll be burning once its done than I'll test it. I'll be testing it on my tv speakers and my dolby digital stereo (dd and dts but only sd audio not hd audio).

Edit 2 - Well it seemed to work just fine. It worked great through hdmi on the tv speakers. It also worked good on fiber optic out to the surround receiver. And better yet NO SYNCH ISSUES! I was impressed by that. Of course it was from the same source so theoretically there shouldn't have been a problem and there wasn't!

Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?
