I want to edit videos that show work we've done. So I want to edit the ums, and uhs from the speech. Thats really the only extensive editing I need to do. And obviously arranging clips in an order I want.

I'm used to filming extreme sports, so I would typically turn my camera on and off which made clips. Then I would edit the clips appropriately. Well now we have a full 10 minutes of video that needs to be arranged.

Any input on a super simple program for what I want? I have Corel VideoStudio Pro X3 but it seems hard to edit the audio how I want.

  2. If all you want to do is mute the parts of the audio with the words you don't want, demux the audio and convert it to PCM WAV, open it in any WAV editor (one like the free Audacity) and mute what you want, save your work and reencode it to whatever you want. Mux it back into the video. These are basic things you should already know how to do if you consider yourself some sort of a filmmaker.

I consider myself a novice filmmaker. I have much to learn. Like I stated I only did super simple videos before and now things are getting more complex. Video of extreme sports never required dealing with speech, just throw clips together in a nice sequence then throw in music. That's all I ever really did. Now I'm trying to make educational videos... but thank you kindly for the information.
