    Unlikely replaceable.

Options are mostly USB dongles unless you have an express card slot.

You can call Toshiba but I doubt it.

You can turn off the internal wireless device and add a USB dongle.

If it's internal you really don't have any options except what edDv mentions. The usb dongle is a great idea. I've used them for a few yrs as backup and they work great. Depending on brand they're also pretty cheap. I have a cheapo airlink and it's still rocks right along. Paid 10 bux . There are better brands but I can't see paying $30 or $40 for sumthin like that. These older models I have arent up to newer wireless standards(don't do wireless "N") but they do work perfectly on the other categories.

I don't know about this specific laptop, but others you can upgrade the wifi internal "mini PCI" card.
You'd need to look at a service manual to see what kind of card it uses.

However, unless your wifi router is n-type, having an n-type card won't work any better.
The "weakness" can be due to the antenna, which is part of the case or lid, which will be the same even if you upgrade the card.

A USB wifi dongle can be put on a cable and moved around to get the best signal strength. You can even attach a reflector to it to boost the signal if you're using it in one place.
