  1. I have a GE 1101p and it comes equipped with a PAL/NTSC selector. I have an NTSC T.V., but accidentily encoded a movie with the PAL Video CD template. When I realized this and was about to throw it away, I decided to give it a try, and low and behold, it played much smoother than any of my NTSC encoded movies. Was this just a fluke or is PAL better than NTSC in smoothness of playback? <if it helps, this movie was pretty dark in comparison to my other NTSC ones>

The best is to convert to the same format as the source...ntsc->ntsc/pal->pal/ntscfilm->ntscfilm or else you may get strange playback because of framerate changes.

  3. As what Baldrick stated.

NTSC should theorectically look smoother than PAL because of the higher framerate, though.
