  1. Hello, I am having trouble playing / editing an AVI video clip in Vegas.

This clip is an uncompressed AVI, I checked the clip in GSpot Codec Info App, it states that no codec is needed. The strange thing is that I can load this clip into the same install of Vegas on my Windows 7 laptop. I'm trying to load the clip on my home XP SP3 install, full updates installed, and it's loaded, I can hear the audio, but the video clip on the timeline is not displaying. I've checked my display properties and it is configured correctly, I am able to view other video clips in the preview plane, just not any avi's like this it seems. The other files I've loaded successfully also show frames in the timeline, but these particular AVI's are showing up as a red / orange color frame, no video output (black on the preview)

Hoping this might trigger a response from someone who has come across this problem, looking for some solutions. Thanks in advance for any help.

post the gspot info. it might be the xp computer is too slow. uncompressed video can require extremely fast computers/drives to view, as the bitrate is extremely high.
