Hi to All. I have got a LGX130 Netbook. I wish to use it to play DVD videos on TV. The Netbook does not have any DVD player, but this is not a problem I can store the Video_ts files on the hard disk and play them. The problem is with the interface. The netbook has 3 USB2 ports and a DVI port. Assuming that all TV sets have scart and RGB composite input ports what kind of an interface should I use to transmit the video stream from the netbook to the TV set? I started looking for an adapter to connect the netbook USB port to the RGB composite ports of the TV. Is this a viable solution? Shall I have software problems when I do this and are there solutions to implement? Being a member of this community for years I know that there are many experienced members who can help me. All proposals are welcome. Thanks a lot in advance.

	Depends what inputs are available on the TV.

 DVI-I has DVI-D and VGA output capability
 DVI-D ---> HDMI
 VGA ---> HDTV PC Port

 If you only have a std def SCART connector, you would need a device that converts DVI-D or VGA to SCART composite or RGB.

 The main USB option is a USB2 display adapter that can output DVI-D, VGA or may have a composite or S-Video out. These generally lack hardware video decode capability for MPeg4. Read the reviews.Recommends: Kiva.org - Loans that change lives.

	That is a mighty big and incorrect assumption. RGB on TVs is a particularly European feature, with component outside of Europe (and I suspect increasingly in TVs released in EU countries) supporting YPbPr instead. Similarly with SCART, again a particularly European connection.Assuming that all TV sets have scart and RGB composite input portsRead my blog here.

	Gentlemen, thanks for the replies. First let me do a correction. My Netbook has 3 USB ports and a VGA port. Concerning the scart and RGB ports on TVs since I live and travel mostly in the European region the problem will be solved largely if I can connect my Netbook to a scart or RGB port to play videos. From what you say I gather that the VGA to RGB can be an easy solution. If anyone else has any other suggestions They are all welcome. Thanks.

	First you should have bought a laptop with composite or S-Video out.

 Now you need to find a VGA to SCART

 Or USB to SCART display converter.

 Good luck with that.

 There are many USB display adapters. Some may have composite PAL or S-Video out.
