Hi
I have purchased a cheap media recorder that records in "mpeg2 MP@H-14". It seems that this format takes up more room on a DVD-5 than "mpeg2 MP@ML". Does anyone know of a convertor that will shrink the size of MP@H-14 to MP@ML? I can only get 1.5 hours on a disk using SP mode on the recorder.
Am I on the right track suspecting this format inconsistency?
Thanks

MP@H-14 is an HD spec.
MP@ML is required for DVD-Video. You're making some sort of HD data disc.
It must be re-encoded. You can't "shrink" this.Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)

High def frame sizes are not legal for DVD.
It's the bitrate that determines how much video will fit on a DVD, not the profile level:
file size = bitrate * running timeLast edited by jagabo; 13th Mar 2010 at 06:45.
