Hi
I have purchased a cheap media recorder that records in "mpeg2 MP@H-14". It seems that this format takes up more room on a DVD-5 than "mpeg2 MP@ML". Does anyone know of a convertor that will shrink the size of MP@H-14 to MP@ML? I can only get 1.5 hours on a disk using SP mode on the recorder.
Am I on the right track suspecting this format inconsistency?

	MP@H-14 is an HD spec. 
 MP@ML is required for DVD-Video. You're making some sort of HD data disc.
 
 It must be re-encoded. You can't "shrink" this.Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)

 High def frame sizes are not legal for DVD.
 
 It's the bitrate that determines how much video will fit on a DVD, not the profile level:

	Thanks gents......looks like I bought a dud from China. Oh well, I new it was a gamble.....you do get what you pay for, and sometimes less....
