When I make a backup DVD of my original is it region free or is it the same region code as the original ?

	It' region free. 
 
 But region has nothing to do with "format".
 
 There is PAL and NTSC, and obviously you are NTSC being in the U.S.
 
 Most people seem to confuse the two and that's usually why backup dvd's from another region won't play in a lot of standard U.S. dvd players.
 
 There is more to the specific details but that is the jist of it.

	I am going overseas(Moldova) and I want to take a couple movies with me, I was wondering if they would play in 
 DVD player there ?

	Region free is your only hope. 
 An NTSC DVD can easily be played in most overseas countries.....especially a region free one.
