Hi,
Ive got some vids I want to upload to youtube but I want to convert them so that they are 2 or 3 times the original playing speed. Im sure this is simple but dont know where to start. Ive got VLC but thats about all.
Anyone tell me how, or recommend a good free programme I can d/l to do this?
Much appreciated. Sincerely, teh noob.

I changed the title so it better describes what you want. Just noob doesn't say anything.
You can use windows movie maker to increase the speed, http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/moviemaker/create/addspecialfx.mspx#specialfx . Export as wmv and upload to youtube. -
What type of file do you have? If it's an AVI file you can use AviFrate to change the frame rate in the header (audio will get out of sync). That will simply make it play though all the frames faster -- so if you set the frame rate too high your computer won't be able to play the video fast enough. For more control VirtualDub has frame rate adjustment tools. You can increase the frame rate and decimate the frames.
