  1. How would I convert a movie that has both Progressive frames and Interlaced frames? I converted a movie that contains both, and half the movie is perfect, and the other half is choppy. I currently use FlaskMPEG to do my conversion.

I would use Sefy's newbie guide. I have used it and it is really easy and produces quality vcd's.

Just get all the "free" tools and follow the instructions and allow about 4-6 hours for the conversion.

  4. are you converting to vcd, svcd, divx or what & with what software chain?

  5. I am using SmartRipper to rip, and Flask to encode into XVCD. I was even to the point of trying a standard VCD, but no luck.

  6. did you enable rebuild progressive? what resolution? above x240? did you check the field-order? what output framerate did you specify? what encoder? templates?

  7. I tried both rebuild progressive and not rebuilding. My resolution didn't go above 240. I don't know what you mean by "field-order." Output framerate, I tried 23.976, 25, and 29.976, none seemed to work. Encoder, FlaskMPG and no templates, but I've never used a template before. I've done this quite a few times and never needed a template.

  8. if your resolution is x240 then field-order is irrelevant unless you ivtc. uncheck rebuild pregressive & encode 29.97fps should work in any circumstance. if it's not i've run out of ideas
