Hello, what im trying to do is convert a AVI to VCD format to be played on my Apex 5131 DVD player, I have read the guides on the right, searched the Forum, and must have tried to do it over and over again.
Here is what system Im using, 2ghz p4 with a 850 chipset with 512mb(rdram) windows xp
Trouble im having: The first 3 times I tried to do the coversion my computer would freeze about 4 to 5 min. in to it, but it had sound and it had video, when I played it in my stand alone dvd player. So I thought what if I placed the computer into safe mode, so I tried it and it didn't crash but it didn't finish either, the program locked up(not the computer this time), with less then a min. to go on the system coversion(or decode) bar(last bar on the progress pop up screen). The video and audio progress bars where still greyed out, like they where not even touched buy the program. I then opened up the newly made MPEG file and played it on my computer, it would play the sound but not video. Oh, I forgot to mention I did set everything up the way the guide told/showed me to.
What I think is wrong is the Program is not compatible with windows XP, but what do I know im a newbie.
Anyway, this is the trouble I am having, so if anyone knows how I can convert AVI's into VCD format with video and audio using Windows XP please post it here I would really be thankfull.
P.S. I've tried TMPGEnc and VirualDub and they didnt work either.(didnt even want to open the AVI) said format not suported???
