recently purchased/installed/configured kworld sa290q ATSC tuner running shielded YPbPr to my Panasonic TAU CT36HL43 (CRT ftw, still love the video processing on this 7 year old 350lb monster, simply zero artifacting- that and it still runs like a top after 7 years). Works great, except for one caveat - the blacks are horrible. Washed out, flat and grey. Adjusting the very minimal internal video settings yielded nothing. Reducing brightness/ increasing contrast turns mild shadows into indistinct featureless grey fields. Bad news bears. Im essentially wondering if anyone smarter than me has tried to console into the firmware in some way to alter the video processing parameters in any meaningful way, or maybe give a noob modder like me a pointer or two toward that end. For what I paid for it, Id even be willing to try my hand at upgrading the chip. Anyone who can point me in a useful direction wins at the Internets!![]()
