I want to build my first PC. I had my uncle build my current one but I've added parts to it since and they are getting a little out of date and I'd like a machine that can do the things I want it to do. Gaming, Video's, Music, Dual Display.

Here is what I am looking at. (I already have the CPU, AMD Athlon II X4 630)(I also have the monitors)

    Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-770TA-UD3 AM3 AMD 770 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD
This board had no reviews so I hope I get some opinions from you guy's.

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128419

Graphics: BFG Tech BFGEGTX260MC896OCDE GeForce GTX 260 896MB 448-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814143189&cm_re=Nvidia_Geforce_G...-189-_-Product

    Or

EVGA 01G-P3-1158-TR GeForce GTS 250 1GB 256-bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130514&cm_re=GeForce_GTS_250-...-514-_-Product

    RAM: G.SKILL Trident 3GB (3 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 15000) Desktop Memory Model F3-15000CL9T-3GBTD

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231267&cm_re=G.SKILL_3GB_%283...-267-_-Product

    Hard Drive: (I already have a 200GB Samsung) SAMSUNG Spinpoint F3 HD502HJ 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5"

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822152181

As you can see I love Newegg but if there seems to be a problem with something working with the motherboard please let me know, I love to learn new things.

I also went to GIGABYTES website to check the RAM available for the board but they didn't list what I listed. They said they couldn't list them all, of course, so I hope everyone looks at that closely.

I like to keep the prices somewhat low so thats why I listed the two graphic cards, I just wanted an opinion about spending only about $20 more for the 260 (worth it?)

I run windows xp service pack 3 hoping to upgrade but might not be for a while.

Thanks for any help. I know I will get some great help and thats why I visit this site a lot.

You should post this over at the overclock.net in the AMD section...you'll get a lot more responses over there....I'm not saying members here can't assist you...it's just that overclock.net has many hardcore gamers so they could give you good tips as well.
    http://www.overclock.net/amd-general/

I've lost track of AMD over the last few years. That AMD Quad cpu you have is a good overclocker. I hope to get the 620 version in my next cheap ass build.

If you wanna save some money get a different gigabyte mobo like this one:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128394

That way you can spend more money on a video card. I don't game so I can't help you there. That mobo supports up to DDR2 1200 ram. Just my 2 freaking cents!

Thank you, I was just in the process of making another post on that site.

I believe you were the one who referred me there last time and I thank you for that.

Also, if the board supports DDR2 RAM will it support DDR3 graphics? I'm still a little uneducated on this stuff

Yup it will support that ddr3 memory on that video card you posted. Because the video card is PCI-EXPRESS 2.0 X 16.

If i remember correctly it comes already setup to do overclocking on everything, comes with it's own software for it.

I never messed with it so i don't recall everything exactly.

Does the 630 have a higher multipler than the 620? If so then the $12.00 is worth it but money is tight as I said. Unfortunately my job I have a work furlough twice a month which = loss in pay. So I gotta pinch every penny I can.

Yes, the 630 has a multplier of 14, but mine is set @ 19, see when I removed the Phenom II 640 and installed the Athlon II 630 I don't think my mobo registered that there was a change and "waa laa" unlocked Athlon II

or did AMD just forget to lock my multiplier?? lol

ps. I am "on the wagon", money goes a lot farther now
