Hi all, Finally someone just send me the european service manual . I have included only the part that show how to replace the harddisk. Any brave people who wants to try to upgrade their players Harddisk with bigger size can try it. I think it will work on all flavour of HR300 and some HR350.

I can't verified that it work as I will wait until the disk developed some problem before even trying (just received it back from service centre for problem unrelated to harddisk). So I am NOT responsible for any damage to your recorder if you decide to try. Please be carefull with static electricity and use proper care for it!

I Tryed to replace the harddisk but the receiver didn't like it. It doesn't boot. How did you manage to get into the menu with a new harddisk?

I called sharp's compagny and they told me that it was impossible to work with a new hardisk...

Actually, using a Sharp DV-HR400, I didn't found any difficulty in changing the original Hard disk of 80Go by a 500Go one. I just remove the original hard disk (HITACHI HDS728080 - IDE) and put the new one (HITACHI HDP725050). When I restarted the DV-HR400, the device indicated that reading the hard disk was impossible, then I switch to the DVD menu, then I click on "START MENU" found the "Re-initiate the Hard disk" control. It lasted few second, then the DV-HR400 restarted automatically with the right configuration. The device indicated 99Hours of free space for recording ....
