    Hello,

Well recently I bought my first DVD burner and installed into my system. I mainly bought it to make backup copies of things like my Windows 7 DVD and other data dvd's of that sort. However I would also like to burn some movies. This has so far been somewhat of an issue.

The movies I have burned so far have all come up with some problem.

First I burned the movie TheHangover. It came up with double bars on the top and bottom. What I mean is the bars on the top and bottom for a widescreen format movie had an extra overlay about half way down witch is darker. This made the movie look extremely ugly and distracting while watching it.

The second movie I burned Jennifers Body came out formatted as a BOX in the middle of the TV. Rather then stretching all the way to sides of the TV screen, it was but off and centered as a perfect box in the middle of the screen. It was very annoying to watch this way.

What might I be doing wrong in formatting these videos when I recorded them. I am using the built in DVD recorder for Windows 7.

I also would like to ask one more question witch I hope could be possible. I currently have the complete box set of Band of Brothers stored on my hard drive. I would like to burn all 10 episodes witch is only about 6gb total data space. However when I try to burn them to a DVD I can only fit 2 Episodes onto one disk. It says 150minute limit even though the DVD has 4gb of space? Is there anyway I can get the whole Band of Brothers series burned using just 2 DVDs?

    We need MORE INFORMATION!

What is your source? DVD, captured. I hope not downloaded warez crap.
WHat tools are you using? Use GOOD all-in-one converters like dvd flick, convertxtodvd or avstodvd to convert to dvd-video.

The source is .AVI files. I ripped them from a friends DVD set a long time ago and I have watched them on and off from my PC ever since. Now I would like to burn them to a DVD(or 3 DVDs maybe it will take). Anyways they keep coming out like this below:

The image above is my attempt to make a copy of DVD for the movie Gangs of New York.

I am using Nero for my projects and used Nero Vision for the .AVI files. They all come out with that BLACK BAR OF DEATH!

Then you don't own the DVD. Please read our rules before posting.

    And buy the DVD.
