Currently avast users are being warned about last update which is causing false positives ... some have reported after removing detected items systems no longer able to boot ... until an update which cures the current issue is released send files to chest ONLY

Avast has shut down their own forums temporarily

Thanks for that about Avast. I was wondering what was going on. It reported trojans with new installs of Spyware Blaster and Spybot, both DL'd from good sites. Worse, it destroyed the programs when I let it 'fix' the problems.

That sounds like an interesting converter program. I might give it a try.

Regarding the free WinX HD Video Converter, does it install any codecs or filters?
I'm tempted to try it out (since it's free ), but don't want anything messing with my system.

Tried it. Nothing special, just a simple converter like any other out there.
