  1. Hi all,

I have a problem I hope somebody has seen before....

Whenever I use TMPGenc to join 2 movies together, I will get a very short squel between the 2 joined clips, when i play it back, the squel is very high pitched, but only lasts about 1/8th of a second, it's very very short, but very noticable.

Can anyone give me any info about this problem, and or how to solve this ?

    Thanks much in advance.

I have also the same problem. When i rip tv episodes and cut the commercials, i have three mpegs. when i join them, i get that highpitched squeel. i've managed to isolate the problem somewhat. i believe it comes from where you cut your video, if you cut it at a part with HIGH audio, you get a HIGH squeel. with low audio, you get a low squeel. i don't know how to stop the squeel. what i do is cut the video file at a part with no audio. for example before/after the commercials. althogh i am looking for a better method.

  3. Hi there,

thanks for the info, much appreciated on that. I would tend to agree with you, I will have to do and slice some tests at different places to see if I can get rid of it.

I'm actually surprised there are no other posts on this topic, seeing it is something that could happen on regular basis.

anyway thanks again for your time,
    I appreciate it .

  4. The easy way round this is to make sure that you have a bit of video on either side of your programme to "overlap". Then set the in and out points of each file seperately in MPEG Tools and finally hit the "correct" button before you hit "run". That should cure your "squeak"!!

... well, it did for me ...

  5. I noticed this awhile back but then I found out that even though I get the squeal when watching the movie on my pc, I don't get it when I play the same clip on my DVD player. Strange I know.
