My Sony VCR is responding to macro even when I am not dubbing a tape. I am about to buy a video stabilizer and was wondering if you guys could point me in the direction of a good one with a fair price.

look for datavideo vp-260: this device enhances the video signal and drops MV (costs: about 50 Euro).I use it a lot.
