Converting a dvd vob to a high quality compressed file.. for youtube.

Hello pros, I'm having trouble being able to convert vob to say, a high quality .AVI divx file in order for me to edit later on to Adobe Premiere. I have seen several youtube accounts where they have posted HD movie clips off dvd's and im on a quest to do the same. I will not be posting full movies, i just want to post some movie clips with added music to make music vids. Thxn!

That's completely backwards. Edit before you convert to your final format.
And Divx is not better quality than DVD. You cannot improve on the original source.

I see. What programs could i use to edit VoB's? I tried Adobe premiere but it didnt work.

You can't make any HD clips from a DVD. You need of course a HD source like a blu-ray. But I doubt that it is legal to even post clips from movies on youtube.

And have you even tried google for adobe premiere and import dvd vob?

If you just need to basic cutting you can use dvd shrink to cut out clips from a dvd and upload the vobs directly to youtube. Click on dvd shrink for guides.
