I have installed windows xp. I can no longer get the Tmpegs to work none of the versions. Is there a encoder out there that works well with xp

Um... You won't like my answer...
They all seem to work for me, and I have Windows Xp Pro.
TMPGEnc works nicely, no problems whatsoever.
Try re-installing codecs, DVD player software, and the VFAPI plugin for TMPGEnc. You might also have to set priorities for which codecs it uses (someone with expertise in this part, please help out with details).
I did install all my encoding programs onto XP, no upgrade. Right now I have Premiere, TMPGEnc, CCE, V-Dub all working. Perhaps sonmething was messed up if you upgraded.
