Man, is the front page ever littered with some of the oldest, easiest questions, especially that one.
I am almost inclined to suggest removing the Guides and Tools links, since nobody uses them anymore.
And for the sanity of a few infants, I'll leave out the thread links :P
No, Ackbar, this isn't a trap.

On many sites, I've noticed a sharp rise in the popularity of crapware and stupidware. As an example of crapware, those $30-range DVD copying programs that are essentially DVD Decrypter + DVD Shrink. For stupidware, we have codec packs. At first, I thought it was a new spam style, but after a few months of review, I've come to the conclusion that it's nothing more than genuinely stupid or misinformed people.Want my help? Ask here! It gets worse, though, just look at Afterdawn or TechSupportGuy. AVSForum has some new nuggets, but not as much as it used to (that's the market's fault, however, fewer products). I can open up my issues of Broadcast Engineering, DV, and a number of others, and always find something nifty to read. Here and on several other forums, its like many of the pros and advanced hobbyists either finished what they were doing and quit the site, or have simply stopped posting for the aforementioned reasons (same shit, different day). I didn't post for close to a month this summer, and I came back to a site with some of the same threads still popping up on the homepage. I don't get it.

The saddest thing is that the state of the art on 1-clicks have gotten to the point that some (most?) of these posts are completely unnecessary.
Which also kills the Challenge factor. Blu-ray pretty much got its ass kicked in less than a year, unlike DVD and VCD before it. Those took a gradual beating before it was less than nothing to rip, edit and author them. And any schmuck can shoot a video and post it to Youtube (among others) nowadays.
On the other hand, if it weren't for these Sam Old questions, I'd probably be out of a jobFor every 1 question that I answer here, I get 10 more that are often easier, and people are willing to pay a ton of money for the answers (unlike the "bounty" people here).

You had to dig up a month old thread to restart this ? Get a life.
Funny thing is, all has been very quiet while you were gone. Coincidence ?Read my blog here.
