Bought Samsung DVD-P390 a few days ago as a gift for my dad.

Tested, external HD (500GB), all *.avi files, played well, except loading time especially for external HD EXTREMELY LONG.
And when I say EXTREMELY LONG, I mean you can go make yourself a cup of coffee come back and still see LOADING...

Please, people who has this DVD let me know if that's "normal" for this DVD or I got diffected unit.

    Thank you
    V.

Loading times seem to correlate to file size...at least in my experience. Especially for HD files, as they tend to be much larger.

Yes, that's reasonable, but my Philips 5930 (not sure about the number, the one with USB support) loads same HD in an instance.
The only difference Philips displaces 8 characters of the file name and Samsung displaces long file name. But that should not affect loading time too much.

    Thanks
