Can I Drive an Apple LCD directly from a DVD player?

An Apple Studio Display 17" LCD (M7649) is about to become obsolete in my household when it suddenly occurred to me that it would be great if I could repurpose it as a stand-alone video monitor hung on a wall to display dvd movies at the foot of my futon. This thing uses the obsolete ADC connector, but I don't think it'll be a problem converting that to DVI. But then what? Do they make an S-Video (in) to DVI (out) box? IOW, I'd be converting composite video to DVI that this LCD will recognize. (Normally this thing is driven by an ATI Radeon 9000 Pro video card, if this helps anyone determine precisely what kind of input the LCD is expecting.)

Has anyone here ever done this? Is it worth the effort? Thanks for any input!

ADC is DVI but it's also Apples way of stickin it to ya
It also carries both analog and digital (least thats what I read)

Many potentially expensive issues unless you are good on ebay.

It won't directly work with a DVD player unless you can find one with VGA out. Most upscaling DVD players require HDCP.

It could be adapted for a PC with a $99 DVI-D to ACD adapter.

There are probably SD analog component to DVI-D converters that will cost in the range of a new computer monitor.
