  1. hello all
    i have a small problem i hope spmeone can please help me with. my h/d is only a 20 gig so i dont have much room on it so what i am trying to do is record some tv programs useing my pctv rave card . what i need is a good mpeg recorder so i can record straight from my tv card in to mpeg one or two . what software should i use to give me the best picture quality . thanks for any help i may get

  2. Why not just by a home VCD recorder Sams now carries the terapin VCD recorder for $199 and it also record Audio CD's, it can use 74mi. or 80min. CD-R's or CD-RW's, I bought one and tried it out, cool little machine but not for me I will wait for a DVD recorder they are allready down to $999 for the home units, $299 for a computer DVD recorder.
    I have actually tried all the software MPEG software out there none of them results in a good MPEG1 VCD.
    I finally broke down and bought a Happuage PVR for $199 that records great MPEG2 on the fly from 1150 to 12000 bitrate from 240x112 to 720x576 resolution.
